Ice crusher

The assingment

The ice crusher has been developed during a bachelor course at the TU Delft. The assignment has been to analyse an old (provided) expired patent and apply its working principle to a brand new product.

The transition

The technical principal is based on the expired US patent 2,071,730 by W.A. coventry. This patent has been thoroughly analysed and used as start for the design process.

Optimalisation

The final design is fully analysed and optimized with FEM methods to ensure its final quality. Also extensive research has been done to specific parts and their ideal material and production process.
